3. How far do you travel?
As a children's performer and entertainer, specializing in singing telegrams for adults and children's birthday parties, I am for the most part found in New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich or Wilton and other parts of Fairfield county. I have also done many children's shows in Danbury, New Haven, Milford and other parts of CT or NY. The company, Party Talent, LLC, is based in Norwalk CT and I often travel up to an hour away for birthday parties, corporate events and grand openings, Sometimes I fly to other parts of the country for booth promotion work, corporate events, or when I am asked to teach clown skills. On weekends, I am usually found in Southern CT and Westchester. I also coordinate other performers whom I recommend to cover other areas.

5. When I book a show who does the performance?
As owner of the company, (aka:Head Clown) I always perform my own characters which include Mr. Bungles and Santa. When I make arrangements for other performers for large events or for times when I am not available, the performers come as their own characters, with their own professional shows and routines. The client always knows in advance if I am personally performing or if other entertainers will be there.

6. What do you do to entertain the kids?
I have a high-energy comedy show that keeps the kids laughing with comedy routines using juggling, magic, music with my guitar, games, fun props, and balloon sculptures. I work hard to keep the kids enjoying every minute and I change things based on what I think the crowd might like at the moment. Although there are set bits that I use for my shows, I also do a lot of comic improvising based on the kids' reactions and comments. For more information click here.

7. What if my child is afraid of clowns?
Some children are timid around costumed characters and clowns with makeup which is normal especially in the two to three year old range. The good thing is that Mr. Bungles does not wear make up, big shoes or a wig so children are not afraid. If your child is normally hesitant around any stranger, just let them watch from the back for a few minutes. Once they see other children laughing and having fun, they will probably want to participate as well in just a few minutes.

8. Who is Mr. Bungles?
Mr. Bungles is a very popular comic character using crazy props, juggling, comedy magic, creative balloon sculptures and lots of wonderful physical comedy. Children of all ages laugh a great deal and have a great time. The character was created because parents were asking for a show without make up to avoid potential problems with young children. Mr. Bungles became more popular then the original Party Talent, LLC. character and now performs at all of the shows. He is also great for the older kids who feel they are "too cool for clowns" and for everyone in between who just likes to laugh and have a great time. Mr. Bungles performs for all ages and is the perfect solution to those who want all the slapstick comedy without the chance of tears. Because of the bright costume and broad character, children often refer to Mr. Bungles as a clown but he can also be known as a comedian, magician, or children's entertainer.

9. What is a bubble party?
I have found that kids of all ages, even adults, love bubbles. One of the things you can add to a party is a bubble station. This includes large wands that make amazing bubbles, bubble toys for the kids to play with, and a machine that sends out tons of bubbles every minute. I use a special hand made formula for the big bubbles that even little kids can master. This is a great addition to any party and the kids have a ball. Bubble parties are usually outside but can be done indoors if you have the right space.

10. How long do you entertain at a party?
Most birthday party shows are either an hour and a half or an hour long. For large corporate events, I might be at the same location for 2-4 hours.

11. How much do you charge for a party?
There are many details that affect the price of a party, including: length of stay, location, type of entertainment, and options selected. Please call the office for details and we will work out a show that fits your budget.

Charges for other performers vary depending on the time, location and performers available. If you are planning a large event and need multiple performers, I will work within your budget to find the best people available. Gratuity for any performer is optional

12. What are special options you can do to make a party even more special?
Balloon Sculptures, Bubble parties and more! One of the options you can select is pre-making balloons. The kids LOVE the advanced balloon sculptures I make but it does take some time at the party. When I pre-make balloons before arriving and just make a few balloons at the party, it leaves more active time for comedy routines with magic, juggling & games and less waiting time which is usually hard for kids. It keeps the show at a high energy level and allows the children to really enjoy the creative balloon art without the wait. Usually I make a few balloons for the birthday child so the kids can see the magic of a balloon being twisted and then hand out the pre-made balloons. This is also very exciting for kids because it gets them to see the huge range beyond the "basic dog" they usually see. This option is especially useful for larger parties of 10 or more. Kids are especially excited when you add the bubble station to an event which includes large bubble wands, bubble toys and a bubble machine that kids of all ages love. Helium balloons for the guests, cotton candy or popcorn, and additional performers like a face painter or caricature artist who offer additional entertainment are also popular.

14. What kind of experience do you have?
Besides personally performing at around 250 shows each year, my Pongo the Clown character was featured on a cable television show which aired around 15 times. I had a principal role on a commercial that ran on multiple cable stations for around 6 months. My theatrical background includes a 4-year college degree, during which I studied theatre in England for a year. I have taken multiple classes in NYC, including improvisation with Chicago City Limits, and have performed many times on stage and in films. I am now a full-time party entertainer, event planner, and clown teacher. For more information, click here.

15. How long in advance do I need to book?
I often squeeze in a last minute party, even days away, but it is always better to book ahead to get your first choice for the date and time. Most people book 6-8 weeks in advance and some book me up to a year away because they know my work and want to lock me in for their event. If you know you will be having a party, try to book the entertainment first before locking in the date with your guests. This way you will always have the most options with the most flexibility. If I am already booked, I will help arrange another professional performer.

16. How do I book you or another performer?

17. Why do you need a deposit?
As a professional performer, I turn down work every day because it conflicts with a previous booking. A deposit confirms the time, show date and your commitment and prevents anyone else from taking your time slot. A 50% deposit is due by credit card at the time of booking.

18. Can I book everything on line?
Sure! There is a form on the website to fill out and I will confirm the date and time. Click here for booking details. If you don't get a response within 12 hours, PLEASE call 203-846-2000. With the volume of mail that is received, sometimes important messages get blocked, hidden or lost.

19. How do I pay with a credit card?
I use a secure online credit card service that allows me to process payments by phone. Your credit card is processed with a system that on-line banks use to make sure your private information is safe.

20. What is your cancellation policy?
All dates are considered definite at the time of phone or email confirmation. If you are not sure of your plans, just ask if a 24 hour hold can be put on your date and time. Please confirm or release within this time. The system will automatically release date and give to someone else after the 24 hours is completed. Once a time and date is selected, all other jobs that come in will be refused or planned around your party. I turn down jobs every day due to prior commitments. In the case of true emergencies (child in emergency room, etc.), special arrangements will be made to reschedule without penalty or loss of deposit.

21. What about rain?
If you are planning an outdoor event, please have a back up plan for rain. This could be a tent, outdoor covered pavilion, or indoor location. All events are considered to be definite and are on rain or shine unless specific arrangements are made at the time of booking. If a rain date is necessary, additional financial arrangements may be made to reserve two dates at the initial booking.

22. What about snow?
In the rare case of a snow or ice storm forcing cancellation or postponement, your event will be rescheduled or cancelled without any financial penalty.

23. What if you or another performer can't make it after you are booked?
Please note that I take great pride in being a professional. I organize my performance schedules to arrive on time, plan driving routes, follow up on all details a few days before a party, and plan ahead to make sure every event is successful. I also choose to work only with other dependable, experienced performers who also have professional attitudes. My company has grown tremendously every year because parents and companies trust me and know that I am reliable and professional. Most of my work comes from people who have seen me perform, repeat clients who hire me year after year and from others who enthusiastically refer me to friends and family. I am very proud of my reputation and take great efforts to make sure every party is successful in every way.
In the rare, almost non-existent, time that a performer can't make a show because of a true weather, traffic or personal emergency, another professional entertainer will be arranged. If this is not possible or if the client prefers, the party will be rescheduled, or a full refund given.
